Where did the summer go?
We all ran out of time this summer. It was just way too short. David, Lysa and I went to Girl's Camp the middle of August and had a great, cool time in the mountains of New York. It was fun to watch Lysa during her last year. She was a youth leader and did a great job. But boy was she tired when camp was over.
David and Alexa ran in their first 5K race. They have been training together and hope to ran many more in the years to come.
Lysa flew out 3 days after camp and went to Utah to visit her best friend, Tiffany. She then went up to Idaho and spent time with Grandma and Grandpa. They were able to get a new quilt done for her dorm room. It was really cute.
I flew up the first Sunday of September to help her get settled into her dorm room. After many trips to the store we got everything she needed to be able to cook for the next year. She was assigned the second floor and we were wishing her brothers were with us. It was exhausting just to get everything she brought up to her room. She is rooming with a friend her from our ward and then 2 new girls. Let's just say she is excited to FINALLY get to college.
I was able to relax and have spend some time with Mom and Dad the rest of the week. Then I went back to SLC and spent the next week with my friend, Michelle. It is always so great to see her and her family. I was also able to go to a conference in SLC and enjoyed that beyond my expectations. I am learning so much and enjoying my job like I never thought I would. I am now busy letting the Bishops know that I am available and then doing some training with them on dealing with same-sex attraction and sexual addictions.
We are counting the days until Scott gets his mission call. He will be ordained an Elder tomorrow and will have his Bishop check on the status of his call. We are hoping that he should get it in the mail this Friday. He is beyond excited. We are all hoping he gets to go someplace he can use his Chinese but he knows that the Lord will send him where he needs to be.
