Smart Marriages
David and I just returned from our annual trip to the conference Smart Marriages. This year it was in Orlando, Florida. We went a day early to celebrate my graduation. We decided to go to the Epcot Center. It started pouring rain as we got off the shuttle. We were soaking wet before we even got our tickets. I bought ponchos for us and we needed them through out the day. Our clothes dried but we walked around in wet shoes all day long. The best part of the day was not the Finding Nemo ride that David insisted we go on , but lunch at the German restaurant. The food was great and the entertainment was even better. Everyone working there was from Germany. It was fun to hear David using his German. http://www.slide.com/r/HkThL26H4D_r-21m-zYbVpfo49hGmFsJ?previous_view=mscd_embedded_url&view=original David D. joined us a day later. We enjoyed the conference. David D. made lots of connections with the presenter Bill Doherty and ended being able to help Dr. Kevin Skinner with his research project. Dr. Skinner works in Provo and is doing fabulous work with Pornography addictions. I am actually so jealous of all the things that David is getting to do. But I did get asked if I would like to teach at BYU. I said of course that has been a dream of mine. Dr. Hawkins and I have been friends since my undergrad work and he is a strong supporter of Smart Marriages. We see each other each year and he would like to start a class of teaching parenting and marriages skills at BYU and asked if I would like to teach it. So we will have to see what happens.
